Marv this is a great find! I would love to get John Lester's take on this about the Tamla/Motown Revue only being popular in London. Good to hear our girls were the most successful. Notice NOW that Mary Wilson is in good with Bill Wyman and Ron Wood so you know they liked the Supremes!
Hey Stephanie, I hadn't thought about that, but you right about the Stones, Mary Wilson, the Supremes, etc. I was a bit surprised to hear them mention that they were also big fans of James Brown and Wilson Pickett. Especially in light of how James Brown cut up during the taping of the T.A.M.I Show over them letting the Rolling Stones close the show instead of him! LOL!
^ What you mean a "big surprise"? They always said they were fans of them LMAO
Mick had lots of respect for James by the way even if James didn't like how the tour organizers picked the Stones over him and the Famous Flames to close the show lol
Apparently James respected Mick and 'em too. The Brown family gave Mick their blessing to do the film on their father.
