You've never lived down Krakatoa, East Of Java......
You've never lived down Krakatoa, East Of Java......
...which was really west of Java, but was moved for the film.
In the beginning, God made Hollywood.
I thought he created motown first.
Legend would certainly have it that way!
And so Berry Gordy created Hitsville USA, and he looked upon all that he had wrought, and he saw that it was exceedingly good.
Just like the cakes which Mr Kipling created......
And when berry looked upon the land to be known as hitsville,he saw that there were temptations and knights, but he knew that he would rein supreme as long as he had princess diana but berry did believe in miracles and little stevie wonder, and as he looketh yonder he saw mary of the wells and marvelettes also lady martha of the reeves and vandellas but alas berry being wise knew that to stay on top he would need four and being a stubborn kind of fella he sent for sir marvin of gaye and there were contours along the way but that was just a little misunderstanding and berry knew to round things out with spinners..ahh what a kingdom indeed.
Verily, there would have been no kingdom of Motown, no Royal Court of Hitsville, without Berry Gordy's band of angels, the brothers of funk, who kept tracks on all of the kings and queens, princes and princesses who entered that most esteemed Court.
For thouest are righteth for no kingdom indeed without that merry band of hitmakers, hark for thou only need listen forthwith and without to hear the sounds of motown.
For me, it has always been more about the sound of motown first, then the faces of motown in second place.
Psssss, hey we better be careful or those supremes fanatics will storm the castle.
First they'll have to get past the 4 Tops, who are the Keeper of the Castle.
And Jr Walker is up on the ramparts, with his Shotgun....
...and has anyone noticed that SDF has had the highest ever recorded number of users today?
Currently 1259 - but that's only 16 members, and 1243 'guests' - [[make that largely uninvited guests/spammers) who are all apparently viewing an attachment, with a link that does not work. This castle is indeed being stormed....

OK westgrand..................Shoot Your Shot!!!!
OK, but just a warning one, then.
I'll lower the drawbridge. You go down and get them to form an orderly line, while we set up interviews in the Long Hall.
Arr&bee can play for them in the Minstrel's Gallery.
Anyone who gets out of line, goes into the moat.
There are crocs in that moat!!!!
Yes. I think they offer just a little more edge than rubber ducks.
........and a biting reaction!
All the better to keep people on their toes!
.....and avoiding that moat!!
Except for the rubberneckers, when viewing the castle from the pleasure boat slowly navigating around the moat [[known as the Detroit Sound) which encircles the castle, accompanied by a guide using a loudhailer.
"And if you'll all look up to the battlements on your right, you will see moe, who is at this very moment using her laptop to post comments to the Soulful Detroit Forum. Give her a cheer, y'all, give her a cheer....."
Hi Everyone!!! And then you'll hear:
"Let's proceed to the souvenir stand where westgrand boulevard is selling some soulful tunes, and a respite of some earl grey and scones!!"
"And there goes R&B selling his hooch."
They would capsize that boat in their rush to get to the hooch!
Much more of a draw than my tea [[probably not Earl Grey, as too perfumed - more like English Breakfast or Afternoon Tea) and scones...which, by absolute coincidence, are on the 'to-do' list for tomorrow...
Count me in westgrand
OK, moe. Served the Devon County way, with jam spread over the cream - or the Cornwall County way, with the cream over the jam.....?
I've always put the cream over the jam. Then I eat it very quickly. One minute it's there; next minute it's scone.
Quickly is indeed the best way to enjoy them, and there should be no scone other than a freshly baked one. I'm particularly partial to warm, wholemeal ones.
Whatever the topping, or in whichever order it is spread, it all goes the same way.....
I'm the jam on the cream. And I'm with you; QUICKLY, ASAP!!!
How about hot cross buns?
Watch out west.you don't wanna get...bunrushed.
Right at this minute, I'm unsure if I don't want to get bunrushed, or if I do.....
While the product can't match the quality of home-made cakes, it offers a good range of conveniently packaged items, and still sells in huge quantities.
OK to drop the slogan, if it is then replaced by another, exceedingly good one. If not, no point to the exercise.
Unless it is a marketing ploy, just to test reaction by consumers.....
It's a marketing ploy. There's an advert in today's Metro: MR KIPLING DOESN'T DO RUMOURS, BUT HE DOES MAKE EXCEEDINGLY GOOD CAKES.
Premier Foods appear to be making Mr Kipling products available in both Snap Packs and Snack Packs. Not entirely sure what the difference is between them, but it sounds confusing. Just slices, really, no matter what they're now calling them.
Moving off at a tangent, has anyone noticed how much Heinz [[Baked) 'Beanz' have changed over the years? Open up a can of the original 'in a deliciously rich tomato sauce', and it looks like a completely different product from the one I remember.....
I can't say I've noticed. It's still my favourite brand, and when I eat them it still leads to exactly the same result.
I don't know when the change was made. It could have been a while ago, and I've just noticed, while you've become accustomed to them.
They used to have a much more liquid sauce, with a tomato colouring. Now, coming out of the tin, they resemble food which has been cooked, and then left warm for a while - a glazed, rather congealed consistency.
I expect it is the treatment they need to give them, if they also want to reduce the sugar and salt content - but apparently, there is still the equivalent of five teaspooons of sugar in each tin of the original version , and three in the reduced sugar and salt version....
Martha stewart look out,we got our own chefs cookin over here.
Full length biopic "Eating out of tins' will be coming to a screen near you very soon, after opening in Cannes.....
I don't want to be in the way of 144man after a meal of beans!
He might not be too comfortable with it, either....
ps. Heinz did indeed change the recipe. Just out of curiosity, I'll be trying some other brands....
So I should be aware of your presence too, westgrand?
No,they doesn't usually seem to affect me with too much wind/gas, if that indeed is what we're talking about, moe LOL
I've just made us a breakfast with bacon [[back rashers), scrambled eggs [[free range; and my,those chickens move fast....), tomatoes [[combination of chopped, from out of a tin, and also some fresh), salt, pepper and parsley - and baked beans.
I bought some Tesco [[our leading supermarket) own brand Everyday value baked beans on Friday, to try. I shook the can, and could hear the fluid and thought "that sounds good enough for me" Slightly more weight in contents, some differences in ingredients, but they taste and look just like the old Heinz recipe. Have kept back some to try with a Heinz can - which I know is going to be 'gloopy'. The Heinz can sells for 64pence, the budget one for 24 pence. So guess which one i'll buy next time.
All Day Breakfasts here. All you can eat. Come on down.....
Better not light any matches in here.
Haaa! But for any unpleasant odours - say, in the smallest room - just strike a match, maybe two, and the odours disappear. Much less pungent, and probably healthier, than using an aerosol air freshener - many of which are enough to make you choke.....
Crosse & Blackwell's Baked Beans were marketed as the best baked beans ever. Of course, I tried them and didn't like them. I still like Heinz best, but I tend to buy Marks & Spencer's own brand Simply Baked Beans and Tesco Mountain Spring Room Fragrance with odour neutraliser.
Hey i smell something.....!
Must be my Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche eau de toilette.....
WOW!!!! You guys are good!
Three years later & still, IT'S ALIVE!!!
Incredible
