    The Pointer Sisters began their formal vocal training in their father’s church, The Church of God in West Oakland, California. They went on to achieve worldwide success, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have secured a place in pop music history as a dynamic female group. Their aptly named 1983 album, “Break Out” saw “The Pointer Sisters at their sassiest, brassiest, up-tempo best” according to Studio Review, and the rest of the world seemed to agree. The album featured such smashes as ‘Automatic’, “Jump [[For My Love)”, “Neutron Dance” [[as featured in Beverly Hills Cop) and the classic party anthem “I’m So Excited”. Still touring and performing their music to this day, Ruth, Anika and Sadako make a rare appearance in the UK at Rewind Festival 2013 to close the weekend’s proceedings with a glamorous bang!
