I need help with this one folks

This wonderful tracks sounds so-o-o Detroit and I even thought I heard the voice of Joe Stubbs but it must be this hot weather that's playing tricks on me.

Further oddity, the group picture in the video shows a the guy on the right who looks like Charlie Thomas of the Drifters.

Anyone know anything about the group and what else they did?

The picture is the Drifters. I think the record is bleeding awful. It couldn't have come out of Detroit. If it did, it escaped.

It doesn't sound at all "Detroit" to me either boyfromxtown.

I have it on a couple of Kent/Ace compilation C.Ds, [["The Soul of Sue" and "For Dancers Forever") both with booklet notes by Ady Croasdell, so maybe he will know something. All that comes to light on the C.Ds is that it was written by ERNEST HILL and was released in 1966 on the U.S. Kent label, so presumably it was recorded in Los Angeles?
