    The city has lost more than half its population in the last 50 years and the state wants to expand current highways and build more?!!! Like many urban areas in the US, building highways through the cities and splitting up neighborhoods did more harm than good. What ought to be done is to close a section of highway or two in Detroit and build parks or the like over the former asphalt.

    That's the truth. Detroit has more expressways than I've seen in any city.
