~~Mary~~
True that, Marv, for sure. And it's not just the Dells. So many great group have gone unsung except for their most devoted fans. The Dells are my favorites right after - you know who.
~~Mary~~
I will so have to watch this.
Watched it, fantastic. This morning at work, I was rocking the Dells.
very nicely done
Why can I only view Parts 1 and 3 In The Netherlands, and not Part2???
A message tells me I'm not allowed to watch it in my country.
Holy sh*t!...I'm taking off from work for a few days, gotta make sure I watch these...Thanks,
Marv...
F-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c is all i can say!!!
It really reminds you how much you like The Dells. Thanks for posting.
Hi!
It really is a great documentary. In 2005 "The Dells: Oh What A Night" won "a Chicago/Midwest Emmy in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Programs - Documentary or Cultural Significance."
I purchased it right away and have frequently watched it; what a fantastic group!
Best regards
Heikki
Hi, still...
which reminds me that Mickey McGill of the Dells sent this

a couple of months ago and asked to spread the word :-).
Best regards
Heikki
Great info as usual, Heikki.
Thanks,

Nice info. I always love those oldies bios. I knew the original Oh What a Nite sounded weird because I definitely didn't hear Chuck on it. Chuck has such a significant bass. So it wasn't just Harvey and the New Moonglows that he joined haha. Glad he stuck around with the Dells too though.
I know he's gravely sick though. Godspeed, Chuck! The Dells were together for roughly 57 years. I don't think they continued after Johnny Carter's death?
Thank you, Soul Sister,
and thanks to Marv for putting this documentary on this site.
Midnightman, you're correct. After Johnny's death, they practically stopped performing, and completely after Marvin passed away two years ago.
Best regards
Heikki
Been a good while since I viewed this docu, I still say the Mighty Mighty Dells were Mighty Mighty Good!! Always loved them and have seen them perform a few times.
Thanks Marv2 for posting it here.

This and the Billy Stewart Story thread are the kinds of things I enjoy most on SDF. They
really make me hungry for more stuff like this which was just plain beautiful...Dang, the
talents and the music we had stays on my mind.........thanks again, Marv....
