Probably Best Not To Tell THE ORLONS About This--Involves The Lawrence Welk Show

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    Methuselah2,

I really enjoyed that, it had me rolling! I love that the Lennon Sisters seemed to be having a ball doing the Wah Watusi.

Good for them. The only thing that irks me is that I've never been able to find any footage
whatsoever of The Orlons doing any of their songs. If anyone has seen any could they please
point it out to a brother...

Wasn't that from the one time Lawrence Welk bowed to pressure and had his cast perform a few rock 'N' roll songs? I heard about it. They say his viewers hated that show. But the Lennons were eager to do some contemporary songs because they felt their image was old- fashioned. Didn't they do a semi strip number in Vegas? I saw a Lennon Sisters documentary where they sang a number with the Hines Brothers and southern viewers were pissed because they touched those black men.

Gary - I think you might be right about that. What a number! Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate a single video clip from Welk's tribute shows to Prince and Courtney Love/Hole. When those shows originally aired, they . . . er, oops . . . sorry--wrong thread. "Again?" "I take a 7 & 3/4s."

I thought this was going to be horrible it was kind of cute. It reminded me of when Pat Boone did Little Richard but I have to give the Lennon Sisters credit they did much better than I thought they would. I bet deep down inside Lawrence Welk liked this. Champagne anyone?

I'll drink to that! And Janet Lennon really wasn't bad on lead. And she danced pretty well, I'll say that.
