NEW ORLEANS: Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been admitted to a hospital in United States as brother of the former heavyweight champion fears Ali could be dead in days.
Ali celebrated his 71st birthday last month. He has been suffering from Parkinson disease for the last 30 years. It's a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system characterized by tremor and impaired muscular coordination.
Ali's brother Rahman Ali told a UK magazine that Ali’s condition has
declined rapidly in recent days.
Ali had been suffering from dehydration and severe weakness after which he was admitted to a hospital in Arizona.
Fears for Muhammad Ali's health are growing after the boxer's brother
suggested the legendary sportsman could be dead within days.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali's daughter Maryum Ali knocked down rumors of her father being near death, saying he was just fine and watching the Super Bowl at home.[[APP)
I'm praying for the Champ. Without a doubt, Ali WAS the greatest.
They broadcast photos of him wearing a Baltimore Ravens tee shirt while watching the game Sunday night to dispel rumors of his being near death. I hope that he's got many years ahead of him.
Sad to hear this. Sending up a prayer for the Greatest!

I hope so, Roberta. I'm not quite ready to let him go.
Prayers Sent.
Reports of his critical health and/or demise are greatly exaggerated.
I certainly hope so, Kam

Ok Champ hang in there!
When Michael Jackson died a couple of years ago, I broke the news to my wife by telling her that the "most famous man in the world died today" [[I stand by that, by the way). Not believing that it could be Jackson, her first guess was that I was talking about Ali, and that was an excellent guess.
In the movie "Blade Runner", one of the main characters notes that the light that shines twice as bright burns half as long. Perhaps unfairly, every time I hear that phrase, I think about Ali at the height of his game and it makes me sad that he's suffered so much in the last half of his life.
