    The Capitols

This was one of the follow up singles to Cool Jerk. But what the hell was the octopus? My dad said it wasn't really a dance just something the group made up.

    My favorite Capitols song!

Check this out - Foolish One by the Capitols -

Never heard this before, but I MUST have it!! Do you think it's the same Capitols? You might want to check this guy's other videos since he is "RareDetroit" with about 200 videos. I haven't looked at any others yet.

Well, GROOVE is definitely by The Capitols of COOL JERK fame. Remarkably similar but with nice touches of its own. I remember hearing it back in the day but not often.

FOOLISH ONE is very good. New to me. I'd like to know if it's the same Capitols myself.

Thanks very much for both of these. Very enjoyable.

Those were the same Capitols as the group that sang "Cool Jerk". But "Foolish One" was released much later [[early '70s). That was a remake of a very good charted song: sung by The Vareeations on Dionn Records” in the late '60s. The only video I can find of it on The Internet has been sped up, so it is not recognisable:

Thanks for the answer Robb. The link that Oldies provided is to a clear and proper speed of the recording. And hearing it, I had thought it was probably early Capitols. Very interesting that it was them later. My guess work on stuff like this is usually very off.

Robb would know! Thanks Robb. I would have sworn it was earlier also Methuselah. In one of my guide books, it lists Foolish One by the Vareeations and it shows the flip side as It's The Loving Season, which I have on a bootleg Philly collection. Wish I had the A side!

I really like that Capitols version though.
