    "Nightflight" Tue May29, 9P-12M ET: My 2-Part Tribute to Laura Nyro!

    Howdy, FOLKS! Tonight, May 29, 9P-12M ET, on "Nightflight", join me for a 2-part series paying tribute to the genius that was, and is, Laura Nyro. I have done many tributes to Laura in the past, but none in well over 2 years. And this year was especially monumental to the legacy of Laura and for her fans everywhere, as we saw her, finally, posthumously inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame.
    My 2 week tribute to Laura will allow me the time to air Laura's recordings, tributes and interviews. And new to my "Laura Library"...and for you... a number of rare and previously unreleased tracks by Laura, and a very special interview with Laura from just a few years before her death, where we get to hear the much more comfortable and humerous woman she had become later in her life. So do join me tonight...and next week...for my loving tribute to Laura Nyro and her career...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and streaming live worldwide on the internet in digital stereo at www.womr.org
    Thanks! John

    John;
    I see that copley on soulfuldetroit has asked if there is any validity to the rumors that Laura sang/ recorded "My Baby Must Be A Magician" & "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game." Have you ever heard anything on this. I've read some info on her son Gil T. and have been lucky enough to have heard back from him on Facebook. Evidently he is working on a new project incorporating his late mother's music, but is having some problems obtaining clearances. Great listening so far. Enjoyed the medley that you used to kick off your show. Cheers. Mark (Vancouver Canada)

    Maybe those two songs are outtakes from her album "Gonna Take A Miracle"?

    Re ‘Magician’ & ‘Hunter’. I have been told by someone who was there back in the day that Laura used to sing these as part of an encore. A few of her live Motown performances have made it out on to CD like ‘Come & Get These Memories’ & ‘Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing’. No doubt there are more that I have yet to see the light of day. ‘Mountain’ has still to have that honour but maybe one day, who knows. At least we know that it exists.
