    Visit the 100 Club, London

If you aren't within easy travelling distance of Oxford St, London club (& haunt of notorious UK soul master Adey C) the 100 Club then watch this to get a flavour of the place.
Oxford Street is London's top shopping location but you just descend a few steps from the shop level and you are transported into another world.
The club was supposed to be swept away last year as a redevelopment was to take place due to a new rail line being tunneled under the area .... but thanks to the efforts of many 'high profile music celebs' the original building & club was saved (watch the opening 10 secs to see the group coming off the pavement & down the stairs into the club).

This (old) video actually features an Aussie funk band rather than a NS allnighter session but it does capture the full 'feeling' that the club engenders.

If you want to get a feel for the type of tracks played at UK based soul allniter clubs back in the mid to late 60's ....
.... WATCH THIS ..... no 'ground breaking' tunes included but this is what got us dancing back then ...
The Wheel almost always featured a live soul act as well & that can't really be captured in this video ...

Crazy Brit NSoulers have a day out ............
... visiting the Wheel which still exists in the same building (JUST) ...
    .......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3vKiDgkbfA
They are trying to pull the old building down to build another hotel (not that Manchester needs any more hotels).
There's a Facebook page (& link to a petition) that is trying to influence the Council decision as to whether they should allow the existing building to be demolished to make way for the hotel development.
A few 'objections' from the US might just help sway their decision.

If you watch the last video closely enough you might just spot that the Wheel is also sited in a city centre building's basement .... just like the 100 Club .... we did & do frequent the 'classiest' places !!!
