    Bass player's rushing all over the place and a bit too upfront in the mix. Kind of ruins the groove for me. Check it out against the original:

    The drummer's break was smooth though. Had the pattern down tight.

    As a drummer, I appreciate obviously any homage paid to another and am happy to see someone current being interested in material that is of historic value. My issue with the fans of current R+B is they don't look at the history. Which is why I am grateful for the "Unsung" series. My hope is that with someone such as D'Angelo doing this is that a young boy or girl will develop an interset in drumming because of having heard this.

    I would prefer that he do that, now that you mentioned it, for the same reasons just expand the numbers outward.
