I am a fan of Jackie Moore's work. I cannot say I know enough about her career to designate which period I prefered most. I liked the songs "Precious, Precious", Sweet Charlie Babe", " This Time",etc, etc.

I liked "Personally", written by Paul Kelly. I liked all her work, but the earliest record I remember was issued on Shout
label, Here I Am. Great singer!!! I believe she is from Jacksonville, FL. Make Me Feel Like A Woman was good too,
I think on TK label. All her work on Atlantic was outstanding.

Is that the same Paul Kelly who sang "Don't Burn Me"?

Yes! He recorded in Miami too. He also wrote "A Woman Will Do Wrong" which was recorded by Helene Smith and also
done by Irma Thomas and Dee Dee Sharp as it is such a great song.

I recall going into a club in London around 71/72, and hearing a track that completely knocked me out. That track was 'Time', and it still sounds as good today.

Aha! Paul Kelly is such a talented singer and songwriter......... I have got everything I can lay my hands on, both performed by him and also compositions which he wrote and produced on others. Personal favourite is "Bathing in Love Waters" with great arrangements by Gene Page. He did some great work with Annette Snell as well as Jackie Moore. I'll upload to Youtube and give you the url. Time Paul Kelly got some recognition! [[ Keith, he could do with a reissue...Warners did it some years ago and it is very rare and highly sought after).

    Here's some appetisers:

She also did the Elgins' Darling Baby on Atlantic. I think Shout bought the master for Here I Am, which I believe has
a Florida connection. It is the first record I remember by Jackie Moore.

I saw Paul Kelly perform couple of times. He worked a lot with Joe Tex.

I had the "Sweet Charlie Babe" vinyl LP [[and a few of her Atlantic singles) but foolishly sold it and could never find another copy. Kicking myself ever since. I see it is now on CD.

Fortunately, about 10 years ago, I found the "Precious, Precious - The Best Of Jackie Moore" CD, which appears to have most of the songs I love.

"Precious Precious" and "Both Ends Against the Middle" are my favorites, but I love anything by her! I'm not sure what came first, her Shout single [["Here I Am") or her Wand single [["Loser Again").

    Best,

    Mark

    You are so welcome Paulo.

I love stuff from throughout Jackie's recording career, but my favorite Jackie tune is probably "Personally" as well. She recorded it four years before Karla Bonoff hit with it.

Hi Mark. I think the Shout single came first. Actually two Shout singles. Then the third single on Wand.

Yes, "Something In A Look" was the b-side to "Darling Baby" in 1972 on Atlantic Records.

Loved all her work, personal faves are "Here I Am", "Both Ends Against The Middle", "Personally" all the stuff Bobby Eli did on her, all the Kayvette releases[[check out Disco Body) but my fave"Sometimes It Got To Rain In your Lovelife" BAAD record. Saw her maybe 15 years ago in a disco singin to the tracks. She was very happy & shockled that I knew all her work.Very sweet southern lady.

Paul Kelly is my favourite artist of all time. Kent records are putting out a CD of his work at the end of this year or at the start of the next....

Jackie Moore is one of the greatest soul singers, ever, as well. The " Sweet Charlie babe " and " Make me feel like a woman " LPs are both magnificent.

I liked Jackie's earlier harder soul recordings so much more than the disco flavored stuff. Her voice was out of this world when she got fired up...
