    The Supremes....1975
    A different pose/photo for The Supremes. Classy and a great 70's line-up.

I like the contrast with the oddly '80s border.

Just about my favourite has to be The Marvelettes 'Pink Album' cover:

even though the lining of Wanda's wig is showing slightly!

Also - I've seen a pic of Martha Reeves in the same outfit as Gladys (though I cant remember where)

    Katherine looks fab!

I think for many the album content has much to do with why we like the cover so much. For me, it has to be "The Return of the Marvelettes."

I love the concept and the way it was carried out by designer Ken Kim (who also designed "In Full Bloom" and many other Motown covers). Of course, at the time, I wondered why "Katherine's" and "Anne's" faces were so obscured you could hardly see them...never guessing it was only Wanda on the cover. I guess it goes to show, as someone once said, "necessity is the mother of invention."

One of my Favourite Motown album covers is Syreeta's Mowest album. It's a simple concept, well photographed; and gives such an eye catching effect.
