On the Brenda Holloway thread I've referred to the Love Line track as 'Staunton & Walker do Smokey'. However most of their released productions are much more dense, so much so I've come to think of them as the Phil Spectors of Motown.
Just listen to Say You, or Never Leave Your Baby's Side [[Martha), for instance.

I expected this to be "Staunton & Walker sing The Beach Boys". But, instead, this is more like "Staunton & Walker sing Frankie Avalon"!!! . The Staunton-Walker-Dobyne "Hit Pack" could have been called "The Three Roberts". I like their songs they wrote for Okeh Records best [[especially The Artistics).
