Good album by this female-male-female soul trio, with a lot of tracks written and arranged by Van McCoy, with the good New York soul sound that he was laying down with groups like this in the days before he hit the disco. Zulema's on vocals, and she also wrote a few tracks. Cuts include "God Bless The World", "I Worship The Very Ground You Walk On", "Heavy Love", "I Was There", and "We Can Change The World". © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Interesting first album by Faith Hope and Charity. Noteworthy as Detroiter Michael Stokes employed by Clarence Avant as executive producer for the album, one of Michael's earliest credits. He started with Eddie Kendricks' record label with Posse, and went on to huge success with Enchantment, Ronn Matlock, Creative Source, Smokey, Patti etc etc.

I really like 'Life Goes On", too. I just got the above CD. It's a Japanese import and unfortunately the liner notes are in Japanese. I like the CD and have played it a number of times in the last couple of days. Zulema is quite the lead, but when Brenda Hilliard took over, she did a great job as in 'To Each His Own'. I saw them in person opening for the newly lead Jean Terrell Supremes in Columbus, Ohio. They were great in person.

Actually, "Heavy Love" on the Sussex label was Faith, Hope & Charity's 2nd album. Their first album, self-titled "Faith, Hope & Charity", was on the Maxwell label in 1970. Uncreative marketing lead to the group releasing 3 self-titled albums throughout their recording career:

    FAITH, HOPE & CHARITY

    1) "Faith, Hope & Charity" [[Maxwell, 1970)
    2) "Heavy Love" [[Sussex, 1972)
    3) "Faith, Hope & Charity" [[RCA, 1975)
    4) "Life Goes On) [[RCA, 1976)
    5) "Faith, Hope & Charity" [[20th Century, 1978)

To Mark and Jack - Faith, Hope & Charity's first album [[self-titled Faith" Hope & Charity" on Maxwell, shown above) including "So Much Love" is available as a download from Amazon. I bought it and burned it to CD about 8 years ago. I would imagine it's still available.
