The top selling record in the UK at present is the Beatles 'new track' NOW & THEN. Resurrected from sessions undertaken over a 40+ year period, modern sound technology has 'rescued' this track from the vault's bin.
In a very similar way, old soul master tapes are being sought out & 'cleaned up' to enable otherwise unissued or rare tracks to be cleaned up enough to allow them to be committed to modern vinyl.
An article about both processes [[the Beatles & the soul tracks) and how they are happening ...

In the UK, we have around 10 labels who are 'saving 'old soul tracks & releasing them on vinyl; Europe has 3 / 4 more AND EVEN the USA has some [[Numero, etc.).
None of the current big record companies have seemed that interested up to now but the Beatles digi / CD / vinyl single could change all that -- The Beatles vinyl single has totally sold out and they had 1,000's of copies pressed up for the Xmas market. With the lack of pressing plant capacity I doubt that Universal will be able to meet demand ahead of Christmas.
