Easy...Tumbling Tumble Weeds, from The Supremes Sing County, Western & Pop

A very sweet uptempo song, however Diana sounds a bit shrill to my opinion.

    Am I correct?

The Happening "You find your world comes tumbling down." But this was by the Supremes, not DRATS. That threw me off.

Since I did not get it correct....how about this one, non DRATS:

In the first 30 seconds "'cause my love comes tumbling down", Undisputed Truth. And since I'm at it....I always hear at the start someone asking "is it taping?"

Country Western and Pop is in my top 5 Supremes career wide LPS...the harmony on this LP and parts of Liverpool is superb...[[ my top 5...Touch / High Energy / Floy Joy / WDOLG? and CW&P) It's very likely the most familiar cut on CW&P to Supremes fans that haven't bothered to collect the LP due to the C&W title [[C&W seems like the food FISH of the musical world...you either love it or hate it) would be Funny How Time Slips Away b/c it was smartly represented on the big selling '74 3 LP Anthology set....
TUMBLIN' TUMBLEWEEDS is a Western classic...the only Western tune on the LP...Diana Ross turns in a spirited and convincing performance of a hokey lyric song....Clarence Paul did a great job...I always wondered what his deeply RnB style work would have been like with Jean Terrell...
...and thanks for the Rolling Stones TUMBLIN' DICE video! it is one of my fav RS songs...IMHO Linda Ronstadt did to that what Phil Collins did to YCHL...ruined it!!!!

CWP is one of my favorites too! A fantastic representative of the group sound in all its glory. But you lost me with your thoughts about "Tumblin Tumbleweeds". Lol IMO it's the worst Diana vocal on the album. Flo is killing it in the background. Diana sounds tired and bored. I used to kind of like the song- like I said Flo is killing it- but I can't get over Diana's vocal. The version on the lp is from the re-record in late 1964. There's an unreleased version from 1963 and I wonder if Diana turns in a better performance on it, though considering how much better the vocal performances are on the 1964 versions of the songs vs the 1963 versions that have seen the light of day, I cringe to think the 1964 re-record is the "better" take.

Thank you. It got lost in the Tumbling Tumbleweeds YOUTUBE videos.

I too was focused on the DRATS era.

Spreading Love wins a dinner for two, but you have to promise to use a fork and dinner plate!
