Like Love Ain't Love. She delivers a very good lead here but the tune just isn't Good News.
I agree sup, this is definitely Flo’s most compelling lead and the best track on the album as far as myself and many other Supremes fans are concerned. It allows Flo to fully unitise her vocal personality of which she had plenty of.
If only [[that word again lol) she had recorded songs in a similar vein for ABC her story might have proved very different.
I agree with franjoy in that it most probably would have been the highlight of the SC medley had it been included. Sadly as we all now know, that was never very likely to happen.

Quite nice, but not as compelling a vocal as Flo. The intro sounds similar to Sam’s “Twistin’ The Night Away”. Flo’s version could definitely have been a hit single.

I'm not sure this was the song for Betty or for Cal. But the harmonies are great. The Supremes lost this battle because of song choice. They should have chosen more popular hit tunes, although I'm aware that their music got a lot of airplay in Detroit and would be familiar to the crowd.

Honestly Ollie, I don't think her story would've been different at ABC with better quality material. I think she would've still run into the same issues she had with what she actually released. What I think could've been different for her story is if after ABC dropped her, she settled into motherhood for a bit and then pursued another recording contract somewhere else that fit her style of singing. Instead she got locked in on fighting Motown and her lawyer, both of which were worthy battles, but if she hadn't been consumed by anger, she could have handled both her legal issues and her career.
