I have watched this documentary more than once. It's very well done.
I do feel that Estelle [[Jim Stewart's sister) was done wrong.

Yes, bought the book when it first came out over here [[UK), I had a job putting it down. Absolutely loved it.
Brought back memories from when I was 14/15/16 years old and just discovering black music. It was fascinating to learn just what went on back then all I ever knew was the music that I heard/bought, knew nothing about what went on behind the scenes as it were.
Given the era in which they started and thrived, it was nothing short of a miracle that they made it as far as they did and became so influential.
To this day Stax, and it's music, remains one of my all-time favourite studios.
