I call my shed "hut 104",from the film the great escape,because it is!
i said no to a concrete base because if i needed to tunnel it would have been difficult.I cant see how they managed to dig a tunnel that long in a 2 hour film.It aint possible and its supposed to be based on fact.
I'm not starting "tom" till i see the whites of the 1st germans eyes.I have some german peasant/worker's clothing made up from duvets as I dont have any old blankets.they're a bit puffed up and the floral design is bit of a giveaway,but i think about 50 tins of black shoe polish should cover them up.It worked in the film.
The next thing to do [[r n b gonna love it!) is make the hooch from potato peel for july 4th celebrations,a bit late,I know but saw the film in september 1968 and they were late too.Its all based on fact!only took them 15 minutes max from Steve McQueen having the idea to that scottish bloke getting shot on the wire fence.

I'm still waiting for the Red cross parcel to get here.Apparently the Opel Blitz trucks are on a recall back to the factory to fix the ashtray malfunction when,in certain conditions like bomb damage,the ashtray wont slide out of the dashboard .
