Well, it would certainly have surprised me, Moe. She's been dead for over ten years
Well, it would certainly have surprised me, Moe. She's been dead for over ten years
My boss at the time, who was a racehorse owner, was invited to her memorial service.
And no doubt she'd placed a bet on it.......
Time to revive the joke:-
Two corgis. One says to the other, "Thank heavens, she's gone. At least we won't get blamed for peeing on the sofas any more."
As it's reported that our 87 year old present Monarch is very lax in pet hygiene, I should think that joke will be good for a few years yet.
To the Tower with you!
I hope there's an internet connection.
All the comforts of a dungeon, westgrand!
At least there will be a cell phone, then....
Maybe...........but powered by two little hamsters in a wire circle........
Close encounters of the furred kind......
Indeed, westgrand...........
I bet the echo in there would rival that of Hitsville Studio A.
Yes, I think you are echoing my sentiments, westgrand.......
Moe, you can say that again..........again............again....
I will..........I will......I will
Where's 144man? He's not echoing no ones' sentiments!
He's the one who got me in here, in the first place! [[post # 1356)
Which reminds me of that old story of Martha Reeves falling asleep for a long period in a self-rocking armchair, and then not being able to walk straight when she woke up.......
Nowhere to run............
Just as well. Running might prove to be a tad too much for Martha, these days....
She's always got the shoe leather expressway.
It's got that sole appeal....
NOT in 4 inch platform heels!!
At least they allow the wearer to lean in the right direction, if they're inclined....
ONLY if they're inclined!!!
One gentle push from behind, and the wearer is on their way, with a facial expression of slight desperation, which says "whatever you do, don't try and stop me..."
You bet on their way............first class!!!
No need for passport control. It's a shoo-in....
How do you walk in 4" platform heels?
Carefully.
You have to use your feet in a different way from flatties, by transferring your weight towards the front of your feet, effectively walking on tiptoe.
Are you speaking from experience?
Yes. Don't you remember the 70s??????
Mine were only two inches. They told me size wasn't important, and I believed them.
Although they've long gone, mine [[boots) had at least four inch heels, with platform soles - bought from Ravel. I also had several pairs of cuban or stacked heeled shoes from shops like Dolcis.
They were worn with long hair, tight shirts with large collars, and trousers with little in the way of pockets.
I have photos, but which are now kept in a secret vault, attended by 24 hour security guards.
I think I still have a pair of flared trousers I never threw out.
Of course, my photos are kept in the Snakepit, guarded by real snakes.
In my heart, I'm still the age I was when those old photos were taken.
Any new photos only reinforce my suspicion that not only the cameras but the mirrors of today are utter liars.
Security guards can be bribed...........and snakes can be charmed!!
Watch out, 144man - she's on to us!!
We all have items like this!!! Mine where these [[what I called) "dancing shoes." Platforms/3 inch heels but very comfortable. And those off your shoulder dresses with the elastic. Loved them!
I still have some flamboyant Bob Mackie dress [[naturally, it's Bob Mackie) in the closet. Wouldn't/couldn't part with it!!!!!
There is much that still lurks in my closet.......
And mine..........
What is left to hang long in our closet, also hangs long in the mind.....
Yes, such good memories!!!
My heart tells me it's today - my mirror insists it is not....
You bought your mirror from the same company I did? How coincidental!
Yes. It doesn't show up the good side like it used to - and magnifies the bad!!!
And of course, it's WELL out of guarantee by now. Just our luck, even without breaking the thing....
Too bad it wasn't the mirror of erised [[like in Harry Potter) westgrand!
"Be careful what you wish for, lest it become true".
I'd still risk a peek.....
And I would, too!!!
