There is something unique about the miracles[just losing you]that is rare for a motown song and even rarer for a song written by smokey, what is it?...i'll be waiting!

    stephanie
sounds good to me.alot of strings on there

  9. #9
I can only guess it is the remarkably sparse accompaniment............basically just one strumming guitar carrying the rhythm, no other guitar fills, flicks, no piano, no horns, very little bass and simple drum beat with no breaks. Marv Tarplin most always did some neat fills and patterns. This only has strings and a harp. Wrong answer?

  14. #14

No....or not that I am aware of.

Over the years, Jai has posed a number of questions (I suspect it must total 66 questions!) which tend to be for those that know their music. It's simply a bit of fun which everybody is entitled to join in.

Yes, my memory did let me down. It's just the "smoke from a cigarette" that's used in the first and last verses.
    Will hooch solve my problem?

  36. #36
It doesn't seem to do Jai any harm!

    LOL

I was wondering why my memories of the "Fading Away" lyrics had faded away so badly, and then I realised why. If you listen to the lyrics of the Bobby Taylor & Vancouvers' version instead of the Temptations', you'll find that the verse "The good times we shared a lot, When you really cared a lot, Like smoke from a coffee-pot, It's fading away..." is repeated.
