I recently discovered this Omaha Neb./Dallas soul man's gritty, soulful vocals. A check of Amazon.com showed he's recorded several albums for several companies that are now considered a blues or hard soul artist. How did I miss this guy all of these years?

I love Vernon. Ace did a nice comp CD of some of his early work, and there is a japanese CD that has a live show on it that is murderous. As to how you missed him, I don't think that any of us can answer that one! ;-)
