Interesting...the track was definitely cut in Los Angeles on August 12, 1966. The vocals, however, were most likely recorded in Detroit. Both lead and background were recorded September 21, 1966. Their Roostertail show was a few days later.

As we now know, several Supremes' instrumental tracks were recorded even earlier than that in L.A. , some slated for the unreleased 'There's A Place For Us' album. In fact Diana Ross makes reference to this 'upcoming' album during the performances in Paris released on the 'Motortown Revue In Paris' album[[November of 65). And some instrumental tracks prepared for 'the Supremes And The Motown Sound: From Broadway To Hollywood' were started on March 11, 1966 and completed on April 18, 1966.
