Need help with a song I heard

In a restaurant so it was hard to hear, but apparently the song was entitled something like "That's My Story and I'm Sticking to It." At first the vocal sounded like Joe Tex' "Ain't Gonna Bump No More" but I decided it wasn't him. Other songs being played at the time seemed to range from the early 70s to early 80s, so I assume this one was from the same era.

    So who was it?

That's easy, David. "That's My Story" is one of my favorite 1990's Country songs by Collin Raye. It was a huge hit around 1994, and it's from his Epic Records "Extremes" CD, as well as his various Greatest Hits albums. This is my kind of Country dance hit with that Honky Tonk shuffle-beat that I love. It gets to me every time! And, the accompanying video is a hoot!

I am pretty sure that is the right song, but from what little bit I could hear, the version I heard had more of a soulful vibe to it. Does anyone know if an r and b version of it was ever done?
