Smokey Robinson - My Concert Review

I saw last night the legendary Smokey Robinson at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale FL. Awesome concert. Mr. Robinson put on a show. He is still strutting and dancing all over the stage. Great in between concert talk and left me wanting more.

    Here is the setlist:
    Being With You
    I Second That Emotion
You've Really Got A Hold On Me
    Quite Storm
    Ooo Baby Baby
The Way You Do The Things You Do / Get Ready / My Girl
    The Tears Of A Clown
    Fly Me To The Moon
    Love Bath
    That Place
    Just To See Her
    The Tracks Of My Tears

That is great Luciano. It's been a while since I've seen Smokey in concert. Did tell jokes like he usually does? LOL!

Yes he did. Smokey was telling the story about Stevie driving. One woman in the audience said "He did". Smokey heard that and was cracking up.

Roberta, it was about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Sorry I left off Cruisin which was the last song. He did this whole crowd interaction for Cruisin which was about 15 minutes+.

Thank you Luciano. Cruising is one of my all time favorites. Glad Smokey sang it.

I'm interested; how did Smokey sound, and what sort of band / orchestra does he have? Good to hear that you had a nice time.

Agree with you Roberta. My favorite solo Smokey song. Luckily no one was sitting right behind me so I was able to dance.

Peace, Smokey sounded good. If I am remembering correctly he did some extra ad libs to "Ooo Baby Baby" that crowd just loved.

He had a six piece band with three background singers.

I will say it was about 85% full. I know Miss Patti is performing next week so I don't know if that cut into it.

Love Smokey Robinson. I have seen him a couple of times and his voice is still so good.
