    80'-90's girl groups

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMw2fKYMjzU

The 80's-90's produced a ton of girl groups. Many only lasted one, maybe two CD's. Jade, Brownstone, Expose, Pure Soul, Xscape, SWV, For Real, En Vogue , Mai Tai, 9.8 and Bananarama were a few of my fav's. It seems girl groups are far and few between these days. Guess everything has a shelf life.

Right now I can only think of one girl group in existence: Little Mix. They're pretty successful here in the UK and I don't mind some of their songs. They've been together for probably five years now. I think they were on the X Factor and might even have won it!

Nope, cannot think of any ones, 80s-90s, that lasted either. I remember reading once that before she went solo, Paula Abdul first pitched with a girl group aboard with her, but was not taken seriously in return because by that time according to the business, girl groups were not in the fashion.

This was a cute and catchy one, Cleopatra.

Hey, Ngroove, don't forget the almighty TLC, whose surviving members are releasing a new set in June. That will make 5 studio LPs released over 25 years.

Expose was around for awhile and had some hits. They later regrouped a few years ago and are still performing.

Nahhh, I remember them and Destiny's Child. Yes, I understand they are great, but not according to the attuned of taste of my ears.

SWV, Jade, still too "pop" to me. Two of nineties Motown's, Zhane and 702, they were awesome.

Admitted Guilty pleasure: always having loved this one since first listen: Boykrazy's "That's What Love Can Do".

Love Boykrazy's 'That's What Love Can Do'. The girls were all strong singers. Too bad they didn't last. I have always loved Jade's 'Don't Walk Away Boy'.

Also, Brownstone's '5 Miles to Empty' was also a big favorite.

And my guilty pleasure [[perhaps not so guilty!) Seduction's "Two to Make it Right".
