I am especially glad that Susan Whitall who is now retired from the Detroit News has written an excellent story on Miss Ray's passing. Had she not done this, no coverage to my knowledge would have been given in Detroit where she was born.

It is an excellent well written article covering her entire career.

Susan Whitall is an excellent journalist. I am afraid her kind are of a dying breed in this internet lite era we are in.

Ray's participation in Motown was important and she is known amongst those of us that know and care.

I remember some reporter once calling her book "Bury Me At Motown".

This same obit ran in my local paper yesterday. Nice to see coverage of her death spreading, as I don't remember seeing/hearing much about her after her appearances on GERALDO and THE JOAN RIVERS SHOW, as well as MOTOWN 40.
