    Funky guitar music

I heard this song by Arthur Adams and it blew me away. Anyone know of other similar songs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcfqOt9vxJ8

It's nice to see J.B. on SDF......he would've liked that.

Out of the hundreds of Blues tunes that I've heard.....Son House' Death Letter is my fave.

    Anything!

When I used to host jazz listening parties for the guys who still gigged on Bmore's Pennsylvania Ave in the 90's.....Wes was the One artist that everyone wanted to hear.

    Indeed.

J.B. Hutto is my guy.....met him several times through my buddy Rafe, who is also the world's biggest Johnny Winter fan.

What's your fave J.B. and other blues tunes?
Are you familiar with Lil Ed, J.B.'s nephew.

If he didn't have J.B.'s name on his guitar.....the fez is the quick giveaway.
    Cousin Pookie on bass.

When I think of funky guitars in soul, I think about guys like Jimmy Nolen from James Brown's band.....or stuff like this:

Don't know how I forgot this number from another of my Fave's , Hound Dog Taylor [[and Mr. Brewer). I heard Give Me Back My Wig and remembered this. Plus I love the drummer on this....no brakes, full speed ahead into the groove.

The entire album on STAX. 'Jammed Together', featuring Albert King, Steve Cropper and Pop Staples. Doesn't get better than that crew!

I only know him from his Chance singles and a couple bootlegged 45s of unreleased recordings from the early '50s. I heard a few of his '60s album cuts and liked them. But, on the whole, I don't know his '60s recordings well, and haven't even heard any of his later recordings. I like all these:

"Dim Lights", "Things Are So Slow", "Lovin' You", "Now She’s Gone",
"Combination Boogie", "Recycled Woman", and "Pet Cream Man", and his 1950s version of "Summertime".

I've heard of Li'l Ed, but I don't remember hearing any of his recordings.
