I basically kinda ignored this thread because I thought it was an introductory thing on Sharon
who I've known about for many years now. Wrong!!! I didn't know what Sharon had been dealing with for the past few years, not being a tv person and I guess missing it in the press.
Stopped my heart. Damn, Sharon and I are the same age and I hate the possibility of losing
her. I'm still missing the funk outta Prince and Maurice White, dammit!...Okay, I've had my say....

Motown Eddie, I believe there's a schedule on Sharon Jones' website with the different theaters, cities and dates where you can see the film this summer. I'm sure it will be out on DVD soon, maybe before the holidays.

Splanky, yes it is sad that she has to continue fighting so much, while having had such a demanding touring schedule up until this point. I hope and pray she pulls through again. She's a helluva strong woman. She recently announced the cancellation of their European tour due to a last minute emergency surgery.

Thanks for the tip. I looked up Sharon's website and the film is not playing in my area so I'll have to wait for a DVD release.

Absolutely Gutted !!! Waited for years to see Sharon &Dap Kings found out about London show by accident , bought ticket booked and paid for train and hotel [[ both of which not refundable) and now it's not happening, so sorry to her that Mss Jones illness has returned, Hope she gets well soon and gets over to the UK .
