I didn't mean to scare everyone away by having so many questions. No need to wait till you've answered ALL of them to post answers. We can answer them ittle by little, with different posters providing the answers.

Where are the Detroit experts? Come one, come all!

Ollie McLaughlin is correct for #16. 2 Down and 41 to go. Karen, Carla and Moira were his daughters, and Ruth was his wife. He also owned a label named after himself: O-Mac.

I think all this quiz is telling me is how much of a "Detroit R&B/Soul" expert I am NOT.

But I do have another answer ....

    11) What Detroit singer recorded for Josie, Miracle,Ric Tic, Soul, Rene and Airwave? ... I think this must be FREDDIE GORMAN .. his Soul recordings being as one of THE ORIGINALS.

144Man - your answer of "Bouncing" Cornell Blakely for 34 is correct, and Clyde Wilson and Wilbur Jackson for 25 is correct.

Your answer for Nr. 14 is INCORRECT.
Your answer for Nr. 21 is partially correct, but, INCOMPLETE.

I'm sorry. I got confused about which question you were trying to answer. My clue was totally incorrect.

So, currently, we have #3, 4, 11, 16, 25 and 34 answered completely, and 21 needs some addition.

Good job so far. BUT... ALL the correct answers [[or ALL answers, for that matter... have come from Brits! Not only have we had no DETROITERS answer, but not even any Americans! This is highly embarrassing! We could have held this on Soul-Source Forum, and had most of these answered already!

In 2002, we could have had Ron Murphy, Cub Koda, The Count, Stu Bass, Mike McLean, Ralph, and a bunch of Detroit record collectors answering all of these the first US day.

She recorded for Motown in 1972, [[I believe in Muscle Shoals), but there were problems with the contract, so nothing was released.

    Good answer.
There's one more Detroit Soul Hunter, who was the lead singer of two 1960s Soul groups.

Clue: He was Ty Hunter's brother, and was the lead singer of two reasonably well-known Detroit Soul groups covering both the early and late '60s.

So far, the following are correct, with a few partially correct:
    3
    4
8 [[need one more important producer/postal worker)
    11
    15
    16
21 [[need 3 more group members)
    25
    29
    30
    33 [[need earliest)
    34
    35 [[need 2 others)
    36
    38
    41
    42
43 [[need Nikki Todd, Tyran Carlo, and Alvin English)
    45 [[need another)

    So, we need answers to: 1,2,5,6, 7, 8[[partial),9,10,12,13,14,17,18,19,20,21[[partial),2 2,23,24,26,27,28,31,32,33[[partial), 35[[partial)37,39,40,43[[partial) , and 45[[partial)
