There have been more than 500 police shootings this year, an average of about 20 per week. There were three in the 24 hours between Alton Felder and Dilando Castile, but because they weren't on the internet, nobody knows the circumstances. To be sure, some are justified, but since there is no level of trust from the police toward the community, nothing should be taken at face value.

Don't believe that can't be trusted? The guy who was responsible for making Felder's killing go viral didn't live in Baton Rouge, but in Macon Georgia. The day after the video went viral, he was confronted by 10 military police who carried M16s as he went to work on an air base. They told him he resembled a suspect in an assault case. They put in leg irons and handcuffs and marched him off the site.

When he arrived downtown, they informed him that he was actually arrested for overdue traffic tickets. He spent 26 hours behind bars before paying $1,300 in fines and they let go. To make things worse, they could not pick him up behind the wheel because his license was suspended and he no longer drives. They told his boss why they took him, presumably to get him fired but that didn't happen.

Considering the fact that the guy who filmed Eric Garner being murdered just went to prison for four years on trumped up charges, I'd say the guy in Macon got off easy.

I heard about Ramsey Orta going to prison, while Daniel Pantaleo, the officer that strangled Eric Garner is as free as a bird and still working as a cop!

Did you hear about the NYPD dispatching a helicopter to catch a teenager who fare jumped to get into the subway? He turned himself in several hours later, cheating them out the chance to beat that butt.

That does not sound like cost effective policing to me. How much did the copter cost vs the amount the kid cheated on subway fare? Dumb!

This is a prime example of why, as much as I want to, cannot honor the cops who were slain in Dallas.

Oh yeah! the far-right whines about people getting a few extra dollars on their SNAP card, but have no problem paying thousands of tax dollars for crap like this. And, the politicians will never make this known to the voters because they don't want to be seen as soft on crime.

And yet, the president tried to earmark more money toward police this year and they took it out of his budget.

The Republicans have not done anything in the last 7 and half years but try to obstruct President Obama and the progress of this nation. They do not care about the American people. They only care about power!

Ask yourself what the overwhelming majority of White men who favor Trump care about. Women of all ethnicity and races favor Clinton, as do Hispanics and Black people. The only reason it's a close race is that Trump appeals to... certain people who are mad about... something.

And to that point, WTF are they mad about? Companies are hiring, housing has rebounded, and people who need it have health care. True enough, a lot of folks haven't had a raise in years, but what can the president do about that? Most people complaining about them were happy not to lose their jobs between 2007 and 2010. Businesses are using the economy to suppress wages even though many are making money hand over fist.

You are so correct. Even those business that received stimulus monies are not sharing their current prosperity with their employees. It's like the failed trickle down theory.......they are just sucking the money up and putting it in their pockets!
