Here's a recording I am sure not many are aware of. Mary Well's version of Prince's "I Feel For You"! Check it out:

Thanks for posting; had no idea that Mary Wells recorded any of Prince's songs before this.
Thanks for posting; I'm gonna have to score this one for Chaka, though.
You are welcome. Just shows that Mary stayed as current as possible.
The Pointer Sisters also ddi this before Chaka.
This is from 1987 re-release of the Allegiance cd "The Old, The New & The Best of Mary Wells" that included bonus tracks. I'm reading Peter Benjaminson's book about Mary now and will have to pull this cd out and put it on my mp3 player. I just ordered Something New: The Lost Tracks and also the 2 on 1 cd of the 20th Century albums. I think I have most everything else. Has her 51 West/CBS album Easy Touch every been released? That seems to be a hold out.
It has that country/disco feel to it. The kind of urban cowboy beat that was popular during that time period. Makes one want to put on cowboy boots and line dance or two step!
Once again not available in the UK! Used a proxy and got it. Mary's voice is great but the arrangement sucks. Thanks for the alert
LOL, Marys was done on a tight budget.
Now I am wondering what she would have sounded like doing "Kiss"? Prince sang it in falsetto and Mary Wells had that sound.
