Much as a adore Dionne I don't think I shall be buying this. I haven't heard any of these tunes but her voice is nowhere near what it was. This is understandable of course but I think I shall stick to her magnificent back catalogue as I have not enjoyed her most recent releases.

Her final album for Arista, 1994’s Aquarela Do Brasil, paid classy tribute to her adopted country with a blend of classic and current songs inspired by the land’s rich musical legacy. [[The title translates to Watercolor of Brazil.) As so often happens, however, Warwick recorded more material for Aquarela than could be included on the original 12-track set. More than two decades later, Dionne herself has dug into the vaults for a beautiful new compact disc EP adorned with new artwork by Mauriel Monjeon. Tropical Love, available exclusively through the Official International Dionne Warwick Fan Club, presents five previously unreleased outtakes from Aquarela Do Brasil including duets with Brazilian greats Edu Lobo and Ivan Lins.

In 1994 her voice was still fine!

The Aquarela Do Brasil album was not for me, a specialist music style which was not for me and a CD I never play

I didn't realise that. Her voice was indeed fine back then. Maybe an expanded version would be in order. It's not my favourite Dionne album but I would no doubt buy it!!

You would be hard-pressed to find a bigger Dionne fan than me, but sadly I must stand with the folks who say they will not buy this CD. I just did not care for the Brazilian CD and if this project is more from that session, then it just would not be my bag.

As much as I would love for her to continue her career and give us years of new material, I don't think that is a realistic goal, so I say let's mine those vaults, which are probably still quite extensive and re-live her glory days.

Funkytowngrooves reissued a few of her classic arista albums a couple of years ago with the promise of some more but that appears to have hit the buffers. "heartbreaker" was promised with up to 15 additional tracks. That would truly be something else.
I would also love to see "friends" and my personal favourite "friends in love" given the expanded treatment.

The Brazilian album isn't one of my favorites either, but I'll buy this ep anyway. I love Dionne that much. And she is one of the few of her peers who still manages to get a new cd out every few years, even though I am REALLY tired of the remakes.

I wanted to get this EP but the international shipping charge also deterred me.

You can say that again! The postage is double the cost of the cd.

I had the pleasure of seeing Dionne Warwick in concert here in Vancouver, Canada, last evening and was very pleasantly surprised at how well her voice has stood up and the fun she had performing her classic hits. For me the highlight of the evening was her shimmering performances of three songs from her Brazilian themed album. I have long wanted to obtain the five song E.P. "Tropical Love" of unreleased tracks from "Aquarela Do Brasil" sessions and was happy to purchase an autographed copy at the concession stand, which I am enjoying as I type this!

Love Dionne! but the Brazilian CD got one play and went on the shelves never to come off again, I am uncertain about this one as well, and the International postage makes it even more a no no!
