STILL EXCITED! MY LIFE AS A POINTER SISTER by Ruth Pointer

This book has just been released. I picked it up over the weekend and couldn't put it down. The book is very fast-paced, as Ruth covers the highs and lows of her life and career. Fans of the Pointer Sisters will probably find the book very interesting

I started reading her book last night and it is fantastic. It really is a page turner. I'm only three chapters into it.

I hope she's a little easier on Bonnie than she seems to have been in the past!

One of the most harrowing histories of family addiction I've ever encountered!

I love this book!! I started it and had to force myself to put it down. Ruth Pointer is very candid about her trials and triumphs. Yet she shares her story with such humor and warmth...and humility. It is a testimony to how you can weather the extreme ups and downs of life and keep it moving. She also talks in detail about the Pointer Sisters' recording history, which I love. One of the pitfalls of artist/musician autobiographies is that authors can be so self-involved and preoccupied with themselves that they neglect to discuss their art and the music-making process. Thankfully, Ruth avoids that pitfall.

Thanks for posting. I have two books I'm reading now but will have to get this one. This is the year that I said I was going to do more reading. So far, so far.
