I stopped by the Country Music Awards briefly on Tuesday night and happened to catch Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake performing Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey". Whereas I liked the song and the performance, I was bugged by the fact that it completely stole the bassline from "I'd Rather Go Blind". I checked and the song was originally done by David Allan Coe and is thus a cover. However, there is no attribution to the writers of Etta James' classic [[Paul Butterfield, Jordan Ellington, and Billy Foster).

Keep in mind, I'm still unhappy with Ed Sheeran ripping off "Let's Get It On" for "Thinking Out Loud" without attribution. Both of these songs would be hits even with the artists being given credit, so why not do the right thing. Is that how they do it anymore?
