Won't track then go up on the dance sales chart if people buy it?
Won't track then go up on the dance sales chart if people buy it?
I'd imagine you have to buy downloads and CDs for a dance track to move up. But the understanding I got from the dance chart is usually if a DJ was spinning a song in various number of clubs... since the industry has changed from its original foundation, however, it's hard to detect how a song on a chart moves up... the miracle is that on the dance chart, they don't care how old you are, if you have a great dance joint behind you, they'll promote you in the dance clubs.
So it's going to go up on sales chart!
Just heard that Mary's single is moving up the charts. On the Nov 28 charts her new single jumps up to #37
great news blackguy. Thanks! go Mary. I guess I'm old school. Is her single considered electroniica? Is that what it's called?
You know that's right. I think Mary has surpassed Miss Turner!
This is so awesome, I'm very happy for her! Go Mary!
I say go MARY WILSON,this has been a good year for her,i hope to see her in more magazine's too,i'm sure the haters are not happy lol
Yeah that makes her one of the oldest to chart with a top 40 Billboard song entry at 71!
Who would've thought. Mary's movin in on Burl Ives!!
Lol. And don't Tina pretty much retire around 70?
Motor City Works had better get her "Clarity" album out there.
glen..you are so right. Forgot about Yoko! Gonna be hard to top that! And Marv maybe the music company now will buy it from Motor City Works and add Movin On.
Billboard posts their charts online before the magazine hits newsstands, for obvious reasons. To access the full chart, one must subscribe to Billboard Magazine and/or have an online subscription.
Also, the dance chart is a little different. The Club Dance Songs chart [[which Mary is now on), is the ONLY chart remaining in the magazine that is complied from actual playlists submitted by a select number of Billboard reporting DJs. All other charts are monitored digitally [[through SoundScan and Nielsen). Therefore, charts are compiled for the dance chart a week prior to street date, and sent to record labels/promoters/artists a week before anyone else has access.
I can assure you, any updates that are posted on Mary's Facbook page in regards to chart position are current and accurate. For the week of 11/28/2015 Sweet Feet Music & Mary Wilson move up to #37 [[with a bullet).
Another update: Check out 12/5 charts. Mary jumps up the charts at #29
Top 30 for "Time To Move On".
A true Classic Motown Artist Survivor......................Ms. Mary Wilson!

Hot cha cha...Ms Mary Wilson front and center!
Number 29!!! Great deal!
Nice to see an Motown alumni on the chart.
Ms Wilson could break that record of number of years appearing on the charts!
A good voice, top notch production and funky beat are always a winning combination. Europeans have been hip to this musical fact for decades and support artists in tune with current trends. Mary Wilson also has a great stage presence as an entertainer, honed from decades of experience. That is why she is cherished in Europe. It is great to see her have a hit in North America where ageism rears its ugly head. Mary has never given in to defeat on that front, and I along with many others on this forum are cheering her on. Wouldn't it be uber cool if she and Diana did a "partners" dance concept one off recording just to say "Honey, we is STILL terrific!"
