From the 50’s into the 2000’s Lois Nettleton appeared in so many television programs that I watched I became quite familiar with her. One of the earliest was “The Midnight Sun”, an episode of “The Twilight Zone” in 1961. Side bar: Twelve years later my favorite bar [[when I was living in San Francisco) was called The Midnight Sun.

My second favorite episode of “The Golden Girls” is “Isn’t It Romantic?” in which Nettleton plays a lesbian friend of Dorothy, who falls in love with ditzy Rose. The serio-comic nature of the episode was flawless. Side bar: My favorite episode of “The Golden Girls is "An Illegitimate Concern" in with Mark Moses [[“Ice Twisters” [[2009)) plays the illegitimate son of Blanche’s deceased husband.

Ms Moe [[Superstar) has just completed an extreme endurance course, one which has tested her powers to the absolute limit.

Ms Moe [[Superstar) felt she needed to be at her strongest. She has always found reading one of your scripts to be an uncommonly challenging experience....

GOOD THEN SHE'S GONNA LOVE THIS ONE,IT DEALS WITH THE ONLY FEMALE PASSENGER WHO SAILED WITH COLUMBUS,OF COURSE SHE WAS A STOWAWAY I CALL IT[HIDDEN CARGO]BECAUSE SHE IS WELL...HIDDEN[HEHE]ANYHOW SHE SURVIVES[OF COURSE]AND BECOMES FAMOUS AS THE FIRST NATIVE INDIAN QUEEN WHO'S NOT ACTUALLY AND INDIAN...[golden turkeys here we come]I'M STILL CASTING AS WE SPEAK,BUT THE PART IS HERS,I'VE FOUND AN ACTOR TO PORTRAY COLUMBUS AND HE'S FROM LITTLE ITALY...[not the one in N.Y. but the one in Italy]HE'S NEW BUT HE'S GONNA BE BIG AND HIS NAME IS..DUMBORLIO STUPIDINA,GET WORD TO HER RIGHT AWAY...THIS ONE IS GONNA BE BIG!!!

So now, Sophisticated_Soul, I've undertaken a little research [[I just bet that's how you thought of it, back in the day). Oh yes, indeedy! Taken on face value [[which I'm sure you were, and many times), 'The Midnight Sun' looks quite the place for a nice, quiet drink in discreet company, amid refined surroundings...

Arr&bee, Ms Moe is still perusing the script which has you cross-dressed in the lead role for 'The Perils Of Pauline', desperately appealing for rescue while tied to the rail track, while Moe is also cross-dressed as the engine driver of the train , bearing down on you at great speed.

The script is predictably terrible, but Ms Moe finds that the plot does have a peculiarly strong and attractive appeal for her....

I WONDER IF SPIELBURG HAS THESE PROBLEMS....I'M ALL SET TO HIRE GREASY GRADY TO SUPPLY THE MOLDED CHEESE FOR THE RAT SCENES ABOARD SHIP[you know i'm all about realism]AND HE WAS GONNA USE REAL MOLD TOO[NONE OF THE CGI STUFF]WELL THE RODENTS UNION FOUND OUT ABOUT IT[seem they and grady have a history of sorts]AND THE RATS ARE THREATENING TO WALK IF GRASY IS ALLOWED WITHIN 1,000 MILES OF THIS PRODUCTION...[LEGEND HAS IT THAT ONCE GREASY SUPPLIED THE CHEESE AND ALL OF THE RATS HAD TO HAVE THIER STOMACHS PUMPED]DARNED PICKY RODENTS.

They even refused to appear in Pixar/Buena Vista's 'Ratatouille'..and certainly smelled a rat while reading your 'Pied Pauper' script.....

“Mixed Blessings” March 1988. Dorothy’s son Michael announces he plans to marry Lorraine Wagner [[Rosalind Cash); he reluctantly informs his mother that Lorraine is black. Dorothy at first shocked is then supportive. Michael fails to mention Lorraine is twice as old he is. Lorraine has told her mother Greta Wagner [[Virginia Capers) that Michael is much younger than her, but fails to mention he is white. Both mothers are in for a shock. Upon meeting Michael, Greta turns to Lorraine and says “Honey, it’s just a phase. Ever since Diana Ross started marrying white men, everyone’s got to have one”.
