I loved both of these albums. The duet album had some simply fantastic songs, and Donny and Marie sounded their absolute best on the vocals. The overall feel was very smooth, laid-back, blue-eyed soul. It was probably too pop for most soul fans of the day, yet the material was great and the album deserved to be a hit. The Donny solo album wasn't nearly as successful, though Donny did a credible version of "Dangling on A String." I had homemade CD versions of these albums that I played for years before they were finally made available on CD's as part of an Osmonds reissue campaign a few years back.
