I'm actually looking forward to seeing this. The Kinks got lost in the wash behind the Stones, Beatles, the Who, and Cream in the British Invasion but were a fantastic band in their own right.

They were very under rated and overlooked by many. One of their endearing qualities is that Ray never tried to emulate the black artists that he covered, as the rest of his contemporaries did. Just sang with his cockney accent! lol Ray Davies is an incredible and very intelligent song writer. I love so many songs from their catalogue. My favorite LP is Muswell Hillbillies.

For your information, Ray Davies was born in Muswell Hill [[now considered to be an upmarket area) in North London. Us cockneys are those born within the sound the Bow Bells at the church of St Mary Le Bow in Cheapside in the City of London [[once considered the poor side of town!). Essentially Ray has a London accent but not a cockney accent.
