    Debonairs on Solid Hit Bound

    Hi All,

Anyone know how rare the 2 Debonairs singles are on Solid Hitbound [[same group that was on Golden World)

Loving You Takes All My Time / Headache In My Heart [[SH-102)
I'm In Love Again / Headache In My Heart [[SH-104)

For the first one, I've heard some story that there are only like 10 are in existence and they were all found in a flooded basement in Detroit.

Any additional info on these singles would be appreciated!

104 is around in the hands of many collectors, including myself. 102 is dead rare. The latter was definitely pulled back. They put out 104 instead. But what did Don Davis and LeBaron Taylor have in their minds, not putting out that great song, "Loving You Takes All My Time"? I guess they didn't want to put 2 potential hits on one record, but wanted to save the other for the follow-up. But they never put it out again.

I never saw 102 in all my record scrounging in Detroit from 1964-72.

I'm just guessing, based on their relative rarity. A given auction sale depends upon the amount of people who want the record at that precise time. But, I remember that record going for £ 750 to 800 a while back. Although there are a lot more of 104 around than the handful of 102s, it's still pretty rare.

I have the 102 and 104. I bought them because of the george Clinton involvement.

Lucky you. I'm missing Solid Hit 102 and also The Magictones's Solid Hit release.

But, I can listen to all 4 cuts on those records, so it's not the end of The World. I realised long ago that I'll never be able to have all the Soul and R&B original releases that I've sought. I'm reaching the twilight years, and have found that each year goes by faster. So. for me, there are a lot more important things than accumulating plastic disks.

I don't know if I would call it a bootleg. Repress maybe. Bootleg? Probably not.
