The article that you posted says that the show was known for its odd mix of B- and C-list guests and the occasional A-lister, along with quirky New Yorkers from all walks of life.

Back in 1962 he had a quirky C lister New Yorker on wearing a weird get up made up mostly of second hand clothes. He thought her talent was great and had her on several times. She later became an A lister and was named Barbra Streisand.

I enjoyed his show and even liked his messy surroundings.

    Sweet man, R.I.P. Joe Franklin.

He interviewed Jimmy on his television show in 1987, I have the footage, it's amazing.
He even went to catch Jimmy's show.

Sister, Joe Franklin was a NYC staple back in the day. When he had you on his show, it allowed you to been seen by roughly a million people immediately.
