    Jimmy Ruffin Has Died

Hi All: I just learned on Facebook that Jimmy Ruffin has passed. It was posted by David Ruffin, Jr. It hasn't hit the rest of the internet yet. I assume this may have just happened shortly. May he rest in peace.

    Per Reliable Family Sources:
It is with regret, that I inform you all that the great Jimmy Ruffin, big brother of the late great David Ruffin has passed away.
I send my deepest and heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family and nieces of Jimmy Ruffin who passed away last night at the age of 75 yrs. old. Jimmy was born May 7th, 1939 and took his last earthly breath on 11/17/14. Jimmy, like his brother David was a musical bad boy. Some of his notable songs were ," What Becomes of the Broken Hearted", " Since I've Lost You" and many more. Your contribution will live on in our memories, our hearts and in your music. R.I.P.

It's really sad. We're losing so many legends. I guess that means we're all getting older.

So sad. I knew he was ill. He recorded one of the best records ever made. "What Becomes of The Broken Hearted" will be with us forever.

My condolences to his family, friends and fans.

May Jimmy Ruffin Rest In Peace...

Lord Jesus, our savior and our redeemer,
you willingly gave yourself up to death,
so that all might be saved and pass from death to life.
By dying you unlocked the gates of life
for all those who believe in you.
So we commend Mr Jimmy Ruffin into your arms of mercy,
    believing that, with sins forgiven,
he will share a place of happiness, light and peace
in the kingdom of your glory for ever.

    Amen.

Jimmy may be the best to ever do it. Definitely in my top 5. Such a tragedy. Been listening to him all day, non-stop.

Sad news. I hope Jimmy is now at peace. To my mind he was one of the great under appreciated Motown and soul voices, despite having hits. As well as his fantastic Motown recordings I've always loved and had a soft spot for 'Tell Me What You Want' from 1974, showing he could sound just as at home with the Philly sound.

Even there have been rumours for weeks, it was so Sad to wake up here in England to the news of the passing of Jimmy. I was honoured to interview him many times and work with in concerts we promoted, he was always professional and a real Gentleman.

Rest in Peace Jimmy, Thanks for the Music.

Can anyone clarify Jimmy's real D.O.B. I was certain it was May 7th 1939... but the press are saying he was 78 years old.
