Diana Ross ordained as a minister last year??????

I was a bit reluntant to buy the Hello magazine [[which is a very popular UK celeb gossip magazine, they are well known for featuring celebs weddings) because I thought they would only feature 2 pages or so of Evan and Ashlee's wedding but I was glad I bought it because to my pleasant surprise there was a 12 pages feature of Evan's wedding with beautiful stunning photos and write up of the wedding, very nice, first time I have seen Diana's mansion and surroundings close up, very beautiful indeed.

According to the Hello magazine, Diana was ordained as a minister last year, which is why she was able to conduct Evan's wedding, not sure what that means exactly but does it mean she could conduct any wedding ceremonies now?
What does it mean to be ordained as a minister???? does anyone know????

There are online sites that one can visit and ask to be ordained to perform a marriage ceremony. I believe the requirements vary from state to state. But I have had some friends who asked another friend to marry them.

Originally I thought you could only do it once, but I gather that is not true. Last week, I saw footage of Joan Rivers marrying at least two separate couples.

She should now be addressed as Rev. Miss Ross.

It's interesting because I remember she was asked on Inside the Actors' Studio if she was not a singer, what other career path would she have chosen. She said she would have liked to have been a minister, so perhaps this is a small fulfillment of that dream. I'm sure she was so happy to have been chosen to marry her son and daughter-in-law.

Well she also has an honorary doctorate. So she could be Dr. Rev. Ross. All jokes aside, which other Motown alumni have honorary doctorates- besides Martha, Stevie and Diana?

It's always good to have a back-up plan when the day job goes.

Whatever happened to Diana's pre-Supremes dream of being a clothes designer? Did she satisfy that dream in "Mahogany? Some of her designs were gorgeous.

In the 80's, Diana had her own line of sewing patterns. I've wondered though; was this just an endorsement, or did she actually design them?

And she had a signature hosiery line, too.

My cousin gets "Hello" magazine, so I have just seen the article. I agree with David J that it is worth buying.

Kinda off topic but wasn't Diana's grandfather a Baptist minister?
