Thanks for posting that here, soulballad. I've seen it before, but always worth watching again; too funny!

Silly question; was this around the time that the Pips and Gladys couldn't work together/record together? What was the whole deal behind that, anyway?

I think it was about the same time. This clip is from 1977 or 1978. GK&P had some kind of legal battle with Buddah and were prevented from recording as GK&P from 1978 to 1980. So the Pips went to Casablanca and I think Gladys went to Columbia. A couple of years later, the Pips joined GK at Columbia and GK&P were a group again.
