You know, I gather from all those interviews that he must have had ADHD, or something. He's always talking and moving around, and they say that many people with ADHD tend to use drugs to calm them down.

Well that's very mean. We all know that poor man had substance issues, why make light of it? He was wonderful talent. I was very blessed to see he and Miss Teena Marie in concert just prior to his passing. So sad that we lost both Rick and Teena.

Seriously. A lot of people with ADHD get stoned, high, whatever you wanna call it. The ones I know have all told me that the substances they use help them calm down and help them focus.

I can believe that. I have no knowledge of whether or not of Rick was afflected with ADHD. I have expert knowledge from those who knew him, that he did love to party! LOL!

The hard truth is that Rick James said he loved pot so much that almost every song he wrote is about it. "Mary Jane"? It's about pot. "High On Your Love Suite"? Marijuana. "U Bring The Freak Out Of Me"? The doobie! I'd say about the only Motown album that the main theme wasn't about pot was "Street Songs", and that was autobiographical. His drug addiction and his hedonistic lifestyle was the main reason he and Teena Marie broke up.

No, substance abuse isn't funny, but at the time he got hooked was also the time when it was cool, glamorized. And, he was a wealthy musician. Of course he'd going to do something. Even Smokey Robinson became a crackhead. He was perhaps the last person you'd ever think would get wasted. It's probably why he got religion after he got clean.
