As much as I love Mary, I am not impressed by this recording. Something is missing, perhaps more backing vocals. Although I support Mary in her recordings and concerts, my last favorite recording by Mary is "One Night With You".

I use to love "U" by Mary Wilson. I thought it was the best thing she had ever done it was so melodic until my best friend put the CD in the shredder.

I couldn't get into "U" either and I've tried. I have the cd single with different versions - I just don't like it. I've been trying to put together a MW compilation but can't find enough material [[speaking of her solo work).

I prefer the song "Darling Mother [[Johnnie Mae)" that Mary released on iTunes on Mother's Day a year ago. It's not on youtube, but Mary recorded a great vocal for that one.

Oh, I thought this WAS the other Mother song. I just played this, it's OK. I agree with you that her vocal on Darling Mother is much better.
