SOUL TRAIN THE MUSICAL to come to BROADWAY

Although it is a long way off and only in the planning stages Tony Award-nominated producer Matthew Weaver and Media Weaver Entertainment have acquired the theatrical stage rights to the musical variety television series "Soul Train" with the hopes of getting it to Broadway.

Naturally, it is inevitable that it will be compared to Motown The Musical, so let me start it right here. Motown The Musical had the music, but it also had a slight book of how Motown got started and the Diana/Berry love story

Is there an interesting story about Soul Train that can link the music in the musical? Hmmm! Maybe I just answered my own question. I went to Amazon and found a few books about Soul Train. One of them is Behind The Scene of Soul Train.

If it makes it to Broadway, I will definitely see it. Loved my Saturday mornings watching Soul Train and would love to relive that experience in a Broadway Theatre.
