If people genuinely are offended and/or feel the name is outdated, then the name will have to change. Otherwise, the team will not prosper in the future, which is all that matters, no matter what the name is.

Won't they need sponsorship or advertising deals to support them financially? They won't get that with a controversial name.

I don't know anything about them. Are they among the best? If so, they have more clout. If their ranking is average or worse, they are not in the position to court any controversy. That's how business operates.

Maybe 'The NA Reds' or similar would be a mutually acceptable name....
